IPAA Conference Presentation Abstracts
The Insect Protein Association of Australia (IPAA) represented the industry and its members at the combined Australasian Milling Conference and Poultry Information Exchange conference in 2022.

Stock Feed Manufacturers' Council of Australia (SFMCA)
The Stock Feed Manufacturers' Council of Australia (SFMCA) represents feed milling companies throughout Australia. SFMCA members manufacture over 5,500,000 tonnes of feed annually; this is principally feed which is supplied to commercial poultry, pig, beef, dairy, sheep, horse, aquaculture and household livestock producers.
Feed Ingredients and Additives Association of Australia (FIAAA)
The national peak industry organisation representing suppliers of feed ingredients and additives in Australia. The FIAAA advocates and promotes the safe use of feed ingredients and additives.
The intention is a high level of assurance that the feed will neither cause harm to the farm animals when prepared or consumed, nor to the final consumer.
International Insect Associations
International Platform of Insects for Food and Feed (IPIFF) (Europe)
IPIFF is an EU non-profit organisation which represents the interests of the insect production sector towards EU policy makers, European stakeholders and citizens. Composed of 64 members, IPIFF promotes the use of insects for human consumption and insect-derived products as a top tier source of nutrients for animal feed.
The Asian Food and Feed Insect Association (AFFIA) (Asia)
AFFIA aims at bringing industry and research stakeholders from the insects’ sector in a collaborative movement towards the development of entomoculture, entomophagy and their related activities
The North American Coalition for Insect Agriculture (NACIA) (North America)
NACIA is an organization for growing the Insects for Food & Feed Industry. NACIA’s role is to educate and help build awareness/acceptance for insects as a solution to up-cycle nutrients back up into the food chain.
International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (icipe)
The icipe vision is to pioneer global science in entomology, to improve the well being and resilience of people and the environment to the challenges of a changing world, through innovative and applied research, alongside deep exploratory study, impact assessment, evaluation and sustainable capacity building.
